24 x 36 Paintings
Like the minuscule cochineal insect, the most insignificant detail oftentimes becomes the pivotal inspiration for a painting. Cochineal insects live on prickly pear cacti and are covered by a cottony, white substance for protection. Although rarely seen and smaller than a grain of rice, Cochineal insects produce a chemical that is the main source of color used for making red dye.
